Favorite pic so far

Thought I'd post my favorite picture of Melodie so far. Ryan and I busted out our new camera and have been trying to figure things out with it. This was a first attempt to get a "Henderson-

esc" shot. We still have a LONG way to go in taking photos, but I liked this one.

Bundle of joy

Melodie Joy arrived Wednesday night at 6:58, and was 7lbs, 8oz. It was a long 19 hours of labor, but worth every second of it. We're finally home from the hospital, and everyone is doing well. I'll post more pictures soon.

Melodie's blog

Ryan and I set up a blog for Melodie to make it easier to dump pictures and stories about her. Originally I had titled it "Melodie Joy", but Ryan wanted to change the name to "only young once", so that we could use it for "ALL" of our kids and not just her. :) I thought it was a good idea, so the name changed. Here's the link: http://melodieyoung.blogspot.com/ , it's also on my favorites with Melodie's name on it.
We're still waiting and hoping for her to come. The due date is the 28th, but we're hoping she decides to come earlier. I've been feeling well, other than today, when I stayed home from work with some GI issues. I'm planning on being back at the grind tomorrow. We'll see how long this little one decides to grow before coming out to greet us. We can't wait.

1 down

9cm to go! No, I'm not in active labor, but I have dilated a centimeter, and MJ's head is definately down and getting into position. Looks like she's good to go whenever she wants, even if that is in 2-3 weeks. :) Ryan and I are anxious and excited. It should be an interesting couple of weeks for us.

In other news, the "Youngins" took first place in the second half of our bowling season last night. We beat out the team who took first during the first half by taking all 7 points last night in our match-up with them (2 points per game, 1 point for total overall pins in the series). We ended up winning the second half by 1/2 a game, so we did need all 7 of those points. I ended up with my best series of the year with a 472, and a series high game of 176. I was actually disappointed with the 176, because my first five frames were four strikes and a spare, and then I left a bunch of opens. So while I didn't have my high game of the year, it was still a decent game. Next week we bowl the same team for overall winner of the league. If MJ holds out until after next Wednesday, perhaps I'll get my goal of a 200 game and 500 series. We'll have to see.

One of the guys we bowled against last night asked me how I was bowling so well, especially being 9 months pregnant. I shrugged my shoulders and laughed, having absolutely NO idea why. To which one of the other guys goes, "It's the baby. Afterall, it is HALF of Ryan, would you expect her NOT to be bowling well?" I thought that was funny.

5 and 1?

If someone had asked me a couple of weeks ago who I thought would be more likely to be 5-1 on the season, I definately would've picked the Tigers over the Brewers. In fact, I doubt that I would've even have given it a second thought. Buuuuuuuuut, it turns out my Brewers are on a hot streak, and my Tigers need to find an ember or a spark somewhere. Hopefully the Tigers will pick up their first win of the season tonight, but if not, Ryan and I are enjoying some sweet Brewers success.
(Sidenote: we're 2-0 on the season so far, for games we've attended. Our next game up, barring any pre-term labor, will be on the 21st. Hopefully the streak will stay alive)

Opening Day

Ryan and I went to opening day today. We had a great time, and a 13-4 Brewer win made the game quite a success. We met up with some of Ryan's friends for some ol' fashioned tailgating, where I swept the Ladder-Golf game, and had a great time enjoying Wisonsin's favorite past-time. Ryan's friends even brought Gatorade and water, to ensure that we had something to drink. I got a couple of looks for my styling jersey look, but I thought it looked cool. :) On my way home from the game I drove past our future house and saw my future neighbor getting out of her car, wearing a Brewer's jersey, and sporting what looks to be a nine months pregnant belly! She was on her cell, so I didn't stop to chat, but I was excited to see that Melodie will have neighbors her age around. It should be fun.

Funny listing

I was looking on Craigslist today to see if there was anything of interest for cheap around us for our new house. I went to the "free" section and found the following listing: "pregnant or nursing mother". Hmm, is some husband having a hard time dealing with his wife?
